There is no soundtrack at all after the hotfix that arrived yesterday. Players are reporting various audio glitches since the May 27th hotfix. Some say the voice acting in cutscenes is barely audible, while others have no music at all, only sound effects.

Possible Fix (for Windows Users)

Here’s a fix that worked for me and hopefully will help you too: disable spatial sound in your sound settings. To do this:

  1. Open the Sound menu (through the control panel).
  2. Select your audio device (headphones or speakers).
  3. Click “Properties.”
  4. Go to the “Spatial Sound” tab and turn it to “Off.”

I won’t guarante that it will work, it just worked for me and bunch of players on reddit confirmed that it worked for them too.

Some players think that the developers intentionally left out a lot of the music to focus on combat in the game. Personally, I’m not buying it. Music is a huge part of setting the mood especially when playing a gacha game like Wuthering Waves or Genshin Impact.

It could be that they simply haven’t had time to create enough music for the entire game yet. Or maybe there are technical issues preventing the music from playing correctly. Either way, I hope they address this in a future update.

Final Words

While the missing music is the most noticeable issue, there are other audio problems as well. Some players have reported issues with the sound cutting out completely or becoming distorted. Hopefully, the developers will address these issues along with the missing music in upcoming patches. While you are at it, check my other guides on Wuthering Waves:
