Tomodachi Game Season 2 is not announced yet. I was looking for anime recommendations like Classroom of the Elite and found a Reddit thread because Google these days favors Reddit and when you search for any recommendations of anime, Reddit threads show up, in this particular Reddit thread a lot of recommendations were ‘Tomodachi Game‘.
I ended up binge-watching the entire first season of Tomodachi Game, also known as Friends Game, last night.
Is Tomodachi Game Season 2 Announced
As of the moment of writing, there hasn’t been any official confirmation about Tomodachi Game Season 2. The first season ended back in June 22, 2022.
The manga of the Tomodachi game officially ended in August but there is plenty of content the producers can adapt for the anime from the manga.
The anime was produced by Okuruto Noboru, a japenese studio, it is not famous like MAPPA or bones but they have produced plenty of good animes.
While there is no announcement yet, a lot of fans are demanding season 2, so it is possible they may announce a Season 2 soon as viewership is not a problem, Tomodachi Game has a huge fan following.
However, despite many events happening in 2024, no announcement was made, so if there is going to be a season 2, it will likely be announced next year.
What is Tomodachi Game About?
Tomodachi Game is a psycho-thriller anime about five high school students who were kidnapped and forced to play a series of games.
The story follows Yuuichi Katagiri, a guy who is conflicted between friendship and money, his mother says the most important thing in life is friendship while his mentor says, the most important thing is money.
Yuuichi Katagiri’s classmates planned a trip, but the money collected for the trip got stolen. Yuuichi and his friends are dragged into a mysterious “Tomodachi Game,” and they are forced to reveal their secrets in this game.
It was revealed one of the five friends has a debt of 20 Million but this game will help pay off the debt. So, without knowing who this person was among them they decided to play it anyway to help their friend.
However, the catch is that the games are designed to exploit their trust and loyalty. If one player loses, their debt can increase, and others may benefit.
Someone in Yuuichi’s group has hidden motives, and Yuuichi needs to uncover who it is. Eventually, the person is caught and their actions are explained and justified. However, it turns out there is another person in the group with ulterior motives as well.
Final Words
There is no confirmation for a new season yet, but there is a possibility that Tomodachi Season 2 will be announced next year. There is plenty of story left to adapt, so I am hopeful!
