I just finished watching Invincible Season 2, and there are a lot of unanswered questions. Mark now knows how weak he is against the Viltrumites. So how will he deal with them now? The creators of the show have also confirmed that Season 3 is happening but will we see more of Mark Grayson’s story this year?
The Wait Might Not Be So Long
There was a huge gap between Season 1 and 2, but the creators are confident that it won’t happen with the upcoming season.
There is no official release date revealed by Amazon Prime. Steven Yeun has said that work on Season 3 has already begun. Still, it’s impossible for Invincible Season 3 to be released in 2024 as Season 2 just ended this year. Co-creator Robert Kirkman even said that their goal is to release new season every year.
Animation like this takes time, so 2025 might be a more realistic guess. But hey, that’s still a lot better than the two-year wait we had for Season 2!
What To Expect From Invincible Season 3
One thing I’m really hoping to see is Mark’s blue and black suit story arc. While it was hinted at in season 2, Mark never actually made the new suit. I won’t spoil this arc, but you can read the comics if you are interested in knowing more about it.
We also know that Oliver, Mark’s half-brother, will be coming into his own as Kid Omni-Man. He’s been growing up fast, and in season 2, we saw him learning stuff. I’m excited to see how he develops as a hero (or maybe even a villain?).
Season 2 left us with Omni-Man in an alien prison, contemplating his past actions. I’m expecting to see him team up with Allen the Alien and escape from the Viltrumites.
This could lead to some exciting intergalactic adventures as they search for weaknesses in the Viltrumite empire.
We might also see the introduction of Powerplex, a new villain with a personal vendetta against Invincible.
And of course, the biggest storyline looming over everything is the Invincible War – a massive conflict that will have serious consequences for the entire world.
Final Words
Robert Kirkman has assured fans that each episode of Season 3 will feel like a season finale. Simon Racioppa, the show’s co-showrunner, has mentioned that we’ll meet some new characters.
Not only is Season 3 in the works, but Season 4 is also confirmed! So, while we might have to wait a bit longer for the next installment, it’s clear that there are still plenty of stories to be told in this superhero universe.
