Season 4 gave us a glimmer of hope. We saw Steve rekindle things with Nancy, a potential happy ending dangling tantalizingly close. But we know this show – happiness is often a cruel setup for an even harsher punch to the gut.
Upside Down is merging with Hawkins, Vecna’s out for revenge… the whole gang’s in grave danger. Season 5 is the endgame, and beloved characters are likely to fall in the final battle.

Why I Don’t Think Steve Dying is a Good Ending?

Steve is, arguably, THE fan-favorite. Killing him off could spark serious backlash, risking a sour note for the show’s final moments.
The Duffers hinted at spin-offs. If Steve lives, he’s perfect for mentoring a new generation of Upside Down fighters down the line.
