Gabriel and Mikey travel to Italy to visit Gabriel’s mother. Mikey falls asleep in the car, giving Davina a chance to reflect on their stressful week. Gabriel, however, warns her that the challenges are far from over.
When they arrive, Gabriel’s mother greets Mikey warmly but is cold towards Davina. Despite hearing good things from Valentine, she expresses disappointment, saying Davina seems ordinary.
Davina checks on Mikey, while Gabriel and his mother discuss Mikey’s living situation. Gabriel explains why staying in a hotel is their safest option due to recent threats, including his house being burned and the hotel attack by his cousin.
Gabriel’s mother knows that something is going on with Gabriel and he is planning big moves. But she decides to stay out of it and spend some time with her grandson.
What Happened in The Mafia Nanny 53?
Dinner Takes an Unexpected Turn
The Mafia Nanny 53 starts with Gabriel, Davina, Mikey, and his grandmother sitting down for dinner.
Things seem calm at first until Mikey innocently starts talking about his new friend from art class. His grandmother asks how they met.
He casually reveals that he met him in the art class where his teacher tried to kidnap him and later his friend’s mom blew the hotel.
Gabriel and Davina immediately realize this is bad. They exchange nervous looks, but there’s no undoing the damage.
The next day, in the morning, Mikey shows his new drawing to Davina, and he says we should frame it. Meanwhile, his grandmother is still suspicious of Davina.
Gabriel and His Mother talk about Davina
Gabriel enters the room and talks about Davina with his mother. She firmly states that Davina is Gabriel’s employee and that is it. But Gabriel declines and says she is more than that.
Gabriel indirectly reveals that he is into her and that she saved Mikey’s life more than once. She can reach Mikey’s side which Gabriel cannot.
Gabriel’s mother is not happy with this and reminds him of what happened the last time they brought a woman into this family. But Gabriel says she won’t disappoint him.
Mikey’s grandmother calls Davina into her parlor to discuss things. Davina thought it was going to be an interrogation and she was going to pass her judgments on her.
However, the old lady reveals that she has seen some positive change in her grandson and she thinks it is because of Davina.
Grandma Knew Davina’s Parents
She also reveals that Davina reminds her of a dear friend of hers, who also fell in love with a Mafioso and they had a daughter. But the dangerous life eventually caught up to her.
The grandma knows that Davina is into Gabriel as well, and she warns Davina that he may be charming but in the end, he is just as much dangerous as her friend’s husband.
Davina reveals that Gabriel is simply her boss and she won’t dishonor the memory of his wife. But turns out the marriage was actually arranged and there was no love involved.
The grandma then shows the picture of her friend and turns out it is Davina’s mother. She also reveals that she knows Davina is their child and somehow she found a way back to this life. She is also ready to tell Davina everything about her parents.
The chapter ends on a cliffhanger with Grandma revealing that Davina does not know the full story and she will tell her when she is ready to know about it.
The Mafia Nanny 53 Review
The revelation that Gabriel’s family was somehow connected to Davina’s parents raises a lot of questions.
If they were family friends, why did they end up killing them? Gabriel’s mother dropped a bombshell on Davina in this chapter.
While we did get some answers in this chapter, it mostly opened up more questions. The backstory about Davina’s parents feels like it’s leading up to something huge, and I’m really hoping we get the full truth in the next chapter. Overall, this chapter was a fun read that set up bigger twists and mysteries to come.
