Hughie’s plan to give his father V ends tragically in this episode. The Boys Season 4 Episode 5 was just released and the show keeps on getting better and better. Butcher and the gang teamed up with Stan Edgar and Neuman in this episode.
MM and Butcher provide a deal to Edgar and he ends up taking it for Zoe. Meanwhile, Hughie’s mom gave Compound V to his dad and he ended up getting superpowers along with memory loss due to stroke.
However, this didn’t go quite as planned as Hughie’s dad ended up going out of control in the hospital and killed guards and a bunch of patients.
He could phase through any object but he couldn’t control the phase. Due to his memory loss, he starts to blame Hughie’s mom and tries to kill her but Hughie steps up to save her.
Butcher Teams Up With Stan Edgar
The Boys along with Stand Edgar go to the secret lab to get the virus that can kill Supes. However, at the lab, they find out there is no virus left and there are a bunch of Compound V-injected animals.
Neuman shows up after a while because she found out about Edgar. Turns out Neuman is also looking for Sameer, the dad of Zoe and he was the one doing experiments using Compound V and the Supe Killer virus.
The Boys survive the suped-up animals. However, there is no dose of the virus left due to the accidents.
Butcher then plans Sameer’s fake death so that Sameer can make more virus for him. Joe Kessler is also with him.
Guardians of Godolkin Joins The Seven
Guardians of Godolkin (Sam and Kate) are invited to The Seven conference room. A-Train convinces Ashley to save him as Sage is suspicious about A-Train.
Ashley plants the evidence on someone else to save A-Train and herself. The Seven then brutally murders the fake snitch.
A-Train survived for now, but sooner or later Sage will figure out A-Train’s secret and most likely A-Train will die in Season 4.
Homelander and Ryan
While Homelander had to follow the orders of The Vought and was a puppet for the company, Homelander is trying to make Ryan different. He wants Ryan to do whatever he wants to. Ryan tells Homelander that he wants to save people.
After Homelander introduces Guardians of Godolkin, he says that we have to do some things differently and people won’t like it but we have to change the world. Most likely, we will see Seven vs The Boys soon.
Is Joe Kessler Real?
At the start of the episode, we see Joe Kessler mocking Butcher’s Team that they are a joke now and Butcher should leave them. Kessler offers Butcher to work with him and their duo can handle the supes.
At the end of the episode, we see Joe and Butcher teaming up, they fake Sameer’s death by chopping his leg off. Now nobody knows that Sameer is alive, they can easily make the supe killer virus again.
However, not a single team even in this episode Joe Kessler interacts with anyone. He even wants Butcher to leave the team so they can team up, just the two of them. That raises the question is Joe Kessler really real or a hallucination.
Even while talking with Sameer, butcher says “We will patch you up.” Sameer tries to look at Kessler but he doesn’t say anything. Butcher then looks at Kessler and gives an evil smile.
Final Words
The episode was good. We got to see Stan Edgar again. At this point, I don’t think Neuman is a threat for The Boys but Butcher is fixated on killing her.
Neuman explodes the driver’s head that was taking Stan Edgar back to jail but the frame didn’t show Neuman killing Stan, maybe she rescued him and we will see Neuman team up with Stan Edgar in the upcoming episodes.
