Lookism 524 is here, and it’s easily the best chapter of this arc. Shintaro has gone completely rogue after finding out that he is the eldest son, not Shingen, launching another rebellion to take back what should’ve been his from the start.
Recap
Before this, three big families had already started their own rebellion, thinking Shingen had become weak. They wanted to overthrow him and put Shintaro in charge.
But they misjudged Shingen’s powers. He completely destroyed the three families, and after that, Shintaro executed their leaders to follow the strict Yamazaki Clan rules.
Later, Shintaro hears that the woman who raised him and Shingen is sick. When he rushes to her side, she drops a huge bombshell.
Shintaro, not Shingen, was always meant to be the Yamazaki clan’s leader. The story about Shingen being saved from a fire was a lie Shintaro was the one who actually saved him. Shintaro’s mother lied to protect herself.
The truth mentally destroyed Shintaro as not long ago he killed his own son for the Yamazaki Clan. Shintaro loses control.
He ends up killing his own mother. Completely shattered by the betrayal, he decides to confront Shingen and take his rightful place as the clan leader.
What Happened in Lookism 524?
Lookism 524 starts with Shintaro meeting with his father, Yamazaki Shinji. He still was not ready to believe what he heard from his mother. So he decided to ask his father.
However, turns out it is the truth and Yamazaki Shinji knew about it. He found it a little late and decided to keep it a secret as things were going smoothly with Shintaro as the vice president of the Yamazaki Clan.
Moreover, Shintaro didn’t possess the “reverse eyes“, which is a feature that the Yamazaki clan leader needs to have.
Meanwhile, a member of the clan informs Shingen about the rebellion that Shintaro started. At first, Shingen thought it might be some kind of misunderstanding and he will clear this out after having a conversation with Shintaro.
However, suddenly Park Somi, the mother of Gun Park, stabbed him with a sword. Turns out Shingen already had planned things with Park Somi to restore her family’s reputation.
Park Somi wanted to marry the leader of the Yamazaki Clan as this would restore her family’s reputation but Shingen didn’t acknowledge her, Shintaro offered that after he becomes the leader he would marry Park Somi and have a child with her, but Gun Park and Shingen Yamazaki must die!
After stabbing him, Park Somi thought Shingen would kill her but Shingen just felt disappointed in her and said I was getting curious about you, what a shame.
Shintaro came, holding the head of his father, this enraged Shingen, he says I would have given you the position anytime you would have asked but you decided to break the rules.
The rebellion members informed Shintaro that he needs to kill Shingen in order to get acknowledged by the members of the Yamazaki Clan.
The rebellion then rushes towards Shingen Yamazaki. However, they are interrupted by the two children of Shingen. They ask Shingen to give a proper name to the one who contributes the most in this fight.
However, Shintaro rushes towards them and kills them both. Shintaro then challenges Shingen to a 1v1 fight revealing he always had the reverse eyes he just didn’t reveal so Shingen could shine.
The chapter ends on a cliffhanger with Shintaro showing off his “UI” reverse eyes and preparing for the final showdown with Shingen.
Review
It’s easily the best one in this whole Gun Park Past arc. Shintaro’s gone completely off the rails after finding out he’s the real heir to the Yamazaki clan.
He has basically launched a full-on rebellion to take back what’s rightfully his even after finding out that Shingen would have given up his position without a fight, he still wants to kill Shingen to become the leader.
Overall, this chapter was awesome. I am really excited to see how this fight between the twin brothers plays out.
