What Happened in Kagurabachi Chapter 47?

The start of the chapter showed us Yoji Uruha, the contracted owner of the blade kumeyuri. Kunishige Rokuhira gave this blade to Yoji.

Uruha this blade suits you.

Kunishige Rokuhira gave this sword to Yoji 18 years ago to fight in the Seitei War. After the war, Yoji returned the katana to Chihiro’s father as requested. However, 3 years ago, Yoji learned that Chihiro’s father was killed.

A group called Hishaku killed Kunishige Rokuhira and they stole all the enchanted blades. The group is coming after all the swordsmen contracted with the enchanted blades, so they can use the stolen swords.

We also learn that Yoji is being guarded by 14 bodyguards to prevent the katanas from falling into the wrong hands. Kamunabi However, one of the bases is attacked by the Hishaku group, while the guards waste their time, Yoji runs away.

The guards then tell Yoji they won’t be able to hold them for long and there is no way they can beat the group, so Yoji should head to the Atago station.

Meanwhile they will assign him new bodyguards and they know they are not going to survive. His new protective detail includes Hakuri Sazanami, who was kicked out of the Sazanami clan.

They meet at the station but Uruha is suspicious so he draws his sword and asks Hakuri to show his Insignia.

He then reveals there is another guy in the protective detail but they got split up to look for Uruha. Hakuri is surprised to see the sword, but Uruha tells him it is a normal sword for self-defense.

It is then revealed there are enemies at their location, a flashback appears showing the conversation between Hakuri and Chihiro.

Apparently, once you bond with a katana, you lose the ability to use sorcery, and your spirit energy is forever tied to the katana.

The four sorcerers then attack them, Hakuri then takes a defensive stance but faints, so Uruha takes matters into his own hands and takes out the four sorcerers with his normal sword.
