What Happened in JJK 271 Spoilers?

JJK 271 starts with Yuji, Nobara, and Megumi investigating the case, Fukuzawa Souta’s fiancee complained that his facial structure has changed, however, once the trio arrives they see Fukuzawa is completely fine but the fiance is affected somehow.

Where is the Cursed User?

The trio is confused about whether the cursed user/spirit is a long-range type or a close-range type. Megumi confirms he does not sense any cursed spirit nearby.

Nobara then says, let’s assume it’s a long-range cursed user. Considering there are no casualties, the cursed user is watching from a distance. Nobara says it’s going to be hard to find the user as there are too many buildings and blind spots.

Megumi then confirms if the cursed user activates its technique again, he will be able to sense him. The trio decides to take the couple away from the area so that they will be out of the range of the cursed technique and the cursed user. The trio comes up with a plan and takes the couple to their friend’s house.

Catching the Curse User

The group heads to an open area to reduce the chance of bystanders being affected, and Nobara suggests using Fukizawa as bait.

After some light banter between Yuji and Nobara, they begin to notice changes, confirming the curse user’s activity.

Megumi identifies the stalker, and together they subdue the curse user, ensuring they can’t use their technique again.

The culprit is confused and defeated but asks what will happen to him. Yuji reassures him that while they’ve caught him, he won’t be executed and should reflect on his actions.

Gojo’s Final Lesson (Flashback)

Eventually, Yuji comes across the cursed user and the flashback shows up with Gojo. In this flashback, they have a heart-to-heart.

Gojo explains, that if this is the end for me, everyone will eventually grow older than me. He wants Yuji to be strong and go on his own way.

Yuji felt sad after hearing this and said, he will never forget Gojo Sensei and he is hoping that Gojo has faith in him.

Gojo wants Yuji to become stronger than him. On which Yuji says, aren’t you being a little too dramatic? Gojo is confident in Yuji’s abilities.

Sukuna and Mahito’s Interaction

Mahito runs into Sukuna’s soul and greets him, clearly surprised to see the King of Curses. He jokes around, saying that Sukuna seems to have changed, but Sukuna barely reacts.

Mahito comments on how his ability messes with people’s souls, explaining that it gives him insight into Sukuna’s deeper nature. He brings up Sukuna’s past, asking if Sukuna felt angry about how he was treated.

Sukuna, however, isn’t interested in Mahito’s words. He calmly explains that he has always lived the only way he knew how.

Even when cursed, he embraced it without regret. Mahito gets frustrated, calling Sukuna’s approach boring.

Mahito wants more emotion, more passion—he’s upset that Sukuna isn’t as eager for chaos as he is. Sukuna’s response is cold, telling Mahito that he has always lived without caring what others think, and that will never change.

Mahito feels defeated in this conversation, realizing he’s nothing compared to Sukuna. Sukuna’s indifference only makes Mahito angrier, feeling like he’s been left behind in the grand scheme of things.

The conversation ends with Mahito storming off, while Sukuna remains calm, showing just how far apart the two are in terms of power and mindset.

Sukuna’s Finger

The final chapter ends with showing Sukuna’s last remaining finger in the Cursed Spirit Research. The final panel says:

Six years ago an unusually shaped finger was discovered in Tokyo Colony No. 1. It strongly resembles Sukuna’s finger… Its cursed level is yet to be confirmed. (December 2nd – around 9:30 PM)

There is no cliffhanger in the final chapter, hence no sequel is expected either. The curse user is neutralized, and the team prepares for their next mission.

Review

JJK 271 provides a satisfying, albeit bittersweet, conclusion to the Jujutsu Kaisen manga. While the lack of a sequel announcement may disappoint some, Gege wrapped up the main storylines effectively. However, there were still plotholes that Gege didn’t explore in the last chapter.

There are emotional moments, especially during the flashback with Gojo, where he encourages Yuji to keep growing stronger.

The final panel showing Sukuna’s last finger feels like Gege is conveying a message but if he had a sequel in his mind, he would have added the announcement in the final panel.
