There is an ongoing rumor that Xolo Maridueña is playing the Fire Fist Ace role in Netflix’s One Piece Season 2. Portgas D. Ace also known as Fire Fist Ace is the adopted brother of Monkey D Luffy.
He is also the second division commander of the Whitebeard Pirates. He ate the Mera Mera no Mi devil fruit that gave him the ability to control and create fire/flames.
After Ace and Luffy part ways, Ace surprises Luffy at a restaurant in the city of Nanohana, where the Straw Hats are resting after their encounter with Smoker.
The encounter of Straw Hats Pirates and Ace is short but it happens in the Albasta Arc.
Is Xolo Mariduena playing Ace?
One Piece season 2 is currently being filmed and several new cast members have been announced. However, Netflix has not confirmed the actor for Ace.
Xolo Mariduena is famous for his role in Cobra Kai and Blue Bettle. Fans have been fan-casting him as Ace for a long time now.
While Mariduena confirmed that he hasn’t auditioned for the role yet, it is his dream role to play Portgas D Ace. He said:
Not yet. It’s a dream, but at the same time, it has to be right. I’ve got to audition for it. I’ve got to go the same route as everyone else. Unless they’re like, ‘Hey, this guy here is so perfect’.
Final Words
Even though Ace doesn’t appear often in the Albasta Arc, Xolo Mardieuna would be the perfect choice for this role.
