How to Find the Assassin in Shadowed Prayers in Dragon’s Dogma 2

How to Start the Quest

Meet Menella

She’s hanging out in a tavern called The Rockmouse’s Burrow in Bakbattahl. You’ll need her help getting around the city anyways.

Make a Save

Rest at the inn after talking to Menella. This creates a save point you can reload if you mess up the quest later.

Flamebearer Palace

Head there, and Menella will meet you outside. Turns out, someone’s been trying to kill the Empress, and she needs your help!

Spotting the Assassin

This is where it gets tricky. Menella knows the assassin was injured in a previous attack, so they’ll have a cut or scar on their right arm. They also wear their hair pulled back.

You’ll need to attend a ceremony at Flamebearer Palace. The Empress will be leading it, and your job is to scan the crowd for the assassin. Menella will warn you when time is almost up. If you don’t find the assassin before then, well… things don’t go well for the Empress.

It can be hard to see details in the crowd. Use your lantern to get a better look at people’s arms. Once you think you’ve found the right person, grab them like you would when picking up an object.

If you catch the assassin, what will happen? Success! You’ll get a nice reward and some serious gratitude from the Empress.

If You’re Wrong or Too Slow, The Empress is assassinated, and the quest basically fails. This is why that save point I mentioned earlier is super important. You can always reload and try again.
