Maja the Dark Savant, the mastermind holed up in the Forbidden Tower, is no joke. Since the Gloomrot update of V Rising, players had a hard time defeating Maja. Early Access recently ended and V Rising 1.0 was released, a lot of people bought the game and now stuck at Maja boss.
Maja The Dark Savant Location
Maja has her base of operations in the Forbidden Tower, settled in the northeastern corner of Dunley Farmlands. It’s pretty far off the beaten path, but luckily, there are Vampire Waygates nearby to help you fast travel. You can find them to the southwest near the Bastion of Dunley or north of the Cursed Forest. The Tower itself is protected from the sun, so no need to worry about daylight burning you to a crisp during the fight.
How I defeated Maja in V Rising?
Now, Maja The Dark Savant isn’t just any regular V Blood Carrier. She’s level 47, meaning you’ll need to be at least level 45 yourself to have a fighting chance.
A big part of that plan is choosing the right Blood Type. I personally found that Warrior Blood (with at least 60% quality) made a HUGE difference.
It gives you some damage reduction and a chance to parry her attacks, which is crucial. If you don’t have that, Creature Blood with 40%+ quality can also work well, mainly for the extra speed and damage reduction it gives you. All the abilities Maja has:
- Book Shield: This is her annoying habit of hiding behind a giant book to block attacks.
- Ink Demons: Prepare for a whole swarm of these little buggers!
- Summon Paper: She’ll throw down rows of paper that hurt if you touch them.
- Teleport: If you manage to whittle down her health, she’ll teleport away to avoid your attacks.
- Paper Blast: Get too close, and she’ll push you back with an explosion.
- Book Healing: That giant book isn’t just for show. It heals Maja and her minions.
Tactics for Takedown
“Ward of the Damned” is your best friend here. It blocks projectiles (which Maja has plenty of) and summons skeletons to help you fight. Chaos Volley spell deals a ton of damage and even sets enemies on fire. Very useful for bringing down Maja and her minions quickly. Use Veil of Blood to dodge
Don’t get greedy and try to land too many hits at once. Maja will punish you for it with her Paper Blast. Focus on dodging and playing it safe.
