The Five Dragon Gods are extremely powerful dragons, each with unique elemental powers in Fairy Tail 100 Years Quest.
They were not introduced in the earlier story of the Fairy Tail and they didn’t show up in the Dragon King festival either.
At the start, they consisted of six members, but one was killed and absorbed by Elefseria. Now only five remain:
- Water Dragon God
- Wood Dragon God
- Fire Dragon God
- Gold Dragon God
- Moon Dragon God
Their existence is not known by everyone. Before Natsu and his team, none of the other who tried managed to do this quest.
Due to their overwhelming power, they don’t stay together otherwise if they fought it would mean pure destruction for the planet.
In this article, I am going to explain about each of these Dragon Gods who will appear in the Fairy Tail 100 Years Quest anime.
Mercphobia – Water Dragon God
He is the first dragon Natsu and the team encounter during their quest. He is the Water Dragon God.
Unlike some of the other Dragon Gods, Mercphobia isn’t necessarily evil. He protects the people of his city and has grown fond of a human girl.
With his powers, he can create tsunamis, whirlpools, and water constructs. He is basically the Aquaman of Fairy Tail. However, turns out Natsu and his team didn’t even need to fight him, he wanted to get sealed.
Abilities:
- He can alter the surrounding water to create barriers or traps.
- He can release torrents of water with devastating force.
Aldoron – The Wood Dragon God
Aldoron is the Wood Dragon God and the largest of the five. He is so big that he appears to be a city.
Aldoron was badly injured in a fight with Acnologia and is currently recovering by absorbing the life force of the humans living in his body.
After defeating the Water Dragon God, Natsu and his squad head over to defeat Aldoron.
When they arrive at the location, they find out that the city is built on the back of the Wood Dragon God Aldoron!
They learn from a resident that Aldoron has five towns on his body and people are actually living in his body.
Turns out Diabolos is also after the Wood Dragon God. Laxus ends up fighting them.
At first, Gajeel tried to fight Aldoron but he was overpowered by the Dragon God. Natsu tried to do the same and he was also overpowered by him.
Natsu then used the Dragon Slayer Secret Art Purgotary Flames which ended up damaging Wood Dragon God a lot and eventually sealed him.
Abilities
- He can manipulate plant life on a massive scale.
- He can drain the life force of living beings to enhance his own power
- His five powerful guardians protect him.
- Way too big in size.
Selene – The Moon Dragon God
Selene is the Moon Dragon God and the only female among the five. Her motives are not revealed, but she seems to be willing to do whatever it takes to destroy the other Dragon Gods. She possesses Moon Dragon Slayer magic, spatial magic, and telepathy.
She has a connection to celestial bodies too. Moreover, she can also travel through different dimensions. Out of all five dragon gods, she has the most unique abilities.
After the White Magic wakes up, she says Elentear has swallowed the moon.
On the other hand, Natsu and Lucy are teleported to somewhere else. This happened to Erza and Gray also.
They try to use magic but they are unable to use any magic in this new place. Turns out they are in Edolas.
Fast forward, Alta Face shows up to fight against Natsu and his crew. Turns out Selene’s magic has distorted the magic in this dimension and has given Alta Face free will.
Eventually, Selene is sealed with the help of Faris, I am not gonna spoil this arc.
Abilities:
- She can control lunar and celestial energies.
- She can teleport and travel between dimensions.
- She has telepathic abilities too.
Viernes – Gold Dragon God
Viernes is a Gold Dragon God. Viernes has infused himself with the gold Alchemists’ headquarters. His goal is to complete Athena, a weapon created to destroy Dragon Gods. Viernes uses Gold Slayer magic.
However, turns out Natsu’s powers are perfect to fight against Viernas Gold’s abilities since Gold conducts Fire.
Even after Viernas took over Athena, Natsu attacks seemed to work. However, everyone else attacks are useless against him. Eventually, Natsu defeats Viernes.
Abilities:
- He wields unique magic related to gold and alchemy.
- He can create and manipulate matter, including powerful constructs.
Ignia – Fire Dragon God
The Fire Dragon God. He is the son of Igneel and the brother of Natsu, as Igneel raised Natsu too. He is arrogant, selfish, and enjoys fighting.
Ignia easily defeated Natsu in their first fight. He can transform into a human and fire dragon.
Ignia intends to restart the Dragon King Festival. However, this time he plans to awaken all the sealed Dragon Gods and destroy the world.
During their fight, a dark mage appears “Faris” of earthland. The manga is still ongoing so can’t say much about Faris and Ignia as of now.
- He possesses incredible physical capabilities.
- Most of his abilities are similar to Natsu’s.
- He commands incredibly potent fire magic.
Final Words
The manga is still ongoing but so far we know Faris got her powers from acnologia’s arm which Igneel managed to cut off. I will update this article once the fight is concluded between Ignia and Natsu.
