Chainsaw Man 173 will be released on August 6, 2024. In Japan, it will be released on August 7th, 2024 at 12am. The whole series has taken a huge turn in the recent chapter.
Denji became the Black Chainsaw Man and is now murdering the members of Public Safety (Devil Hunters).

What Happened in CSM 172?
The chapter starts with Denji attacking the members of Public Safety. Public Safety is a devil-hunting agency. The black chainsaw man managed to defeat them easily.
Special Division 6 also arrived and they managed to land some hits on Denji. However, they also got annihilated. It was then revealed that Denji is after the Ear Devil.
Denji has completely gone mad and is killing everyone in his path. He can no longer control his emotions as he lost so many of his friends.
And his ability to erase any devil he consumes from existence is pretty dangerous for everyone around him.
He is a lot stronger than before and there is nobody strong enough to defeat him right now.
At the end of the chapter, Denji ate the Ear Devil and now nobody can hear anything as Ears are removed from the world.
Final Words
In the upcoming CSM chapter 173, Yoru will most likely show up to use this whole scenario as an advantage to her goals.
More public safety will also not give up and they will keep sending the Special Division forces to capture the Black Chainsaw Man.
However, their goals are still not clear on why they are targeting Pochita.
