Blue Lock 280 spoilers are finally here. They were supposed to arrive on 19th October, but they were delayed. Igaguri is starting to prove more useful than Isagi.
The chapter is basically about the internal conflict of Isagi, he has realized that he is just smart not a genius. Rin, Noa, and Loki are basically the geniuses.
Recap
The game heats up as Kaiser manages to get a big moment, going for the goal. But things don’t go as planned.
The previous chapter was basically about Noa and Kaiser’s internal conflict. Noa wants Kaiser to evolve so that he can become a rival for Noa.
Kaiser realizes that he is just a tool for Noa to improve but Kaiser does not want to be defined by Noa, he wants to create his own story and show everyone his worth.
Isagi, meanwhile, realizes that he’s being used as a decoy by everyone. He’s tired of being a tool and wants to break free and crush everyone.
Just when it seems like Kaiser might take the shot, Loki swoops in with lightning speed and steals the ball, leaving both Kaiser and Isagi confused and shocked.
What Happened in Blue Lock 280?
In Blue Lock 280, we start right when Loki pulls off something wild by stealing the ball from Kaiser. Everyone is shocked, especially Kaiser, who thought he had control.
Isagi was already shocked by the Kaiser’s kick and attempt to score and then Loki just sweeps in and destroys the perfect chance of BM’s final goal.
Isagi’s watching all this go down and can not help but feel lost. He is trying to figure out how to compete with geniuses like Loki, Rin, Noa, and Kaiser.
It is clear these guys are on another level, and Isagi’s smart plays just don’t seem to cut it right now. Even though Isagi used to consider himself a genius too, now he is feeling inferior to all those players.
Noa also put oil on the fire by saying he does not sense anything from Isagi and he is only interested in players who can beat him.
The ball is then given to Rin as I mentioned in my previous article, Loki won’t attempt to score but will give the ball to Rin so that he can get the spotlight.
Igarashi manages to stop Rin and gets another foul. I consider him the REAL MVP of this chapter. Meanwhile, Isagi is still questioning his ability to surpass players like Rin, who seem to have natural talent on their side.
The chapter closes with Ego reminding Isagi that talent alone isn’t everything, but Isagi has to evolve and find his way to stand out (not directly, he is talking to himself). It is a big challenge, but this might push Isagi to unlock something new.
Review
This chapter was another one focused on Isagi’s internal struggle. He’s realizing more and more that he’s smart but not on the genius level like Rin, Loki, or Kaiser.
The match between PXG and BM feels like it’s dragging on now. I was really hoping that Isagi would have his big moment and awaken this chapter, but it didn’t happen. However, I feel like his awakening is definitely coming soon, probably in the next chapter.
Overall, it’s a solid chapter but the pace is slow. The highlight was Loki’s insane speed, and Igarashi once again proved he’s a valuable player (In his own way).
