What Happened in Bleach TYBW Episode 28?
Ichigo, along with Orihime, Chad, Yoruichi, and Ganju, arrives in the Royal Realm. Yhwach taunts Ichigo, telling him there's nothing he can do to stop the Soul King’s death.
The two begin fighting, Ichigo seems to have the upper hand for a while, even overpowering Yhwach during some moments.
But it turns out, Yhwach was just playing around. He had already seen everything with his power, "The Almighty," and knew that Ichigo didn’t stand a chance.
He easily defeats Ichigo, showing just how far ahead in strength he is. Meanwhile, back in Soul Society, Urahara explains the conflict between Quincy and the Soul King to the people working at R&D.
After Ichigo gets back up to fight again, Yhwach tells him that his Quincy blood will ultimately lead to the Soul King’s death.
Ichigo rushes towards the Soul King and, under Yhwach's manipulation, pulls the sword from the Soul King's chest.
Yhwach had some of his powers stored in the sword which resulted in Ichigo's Quincy's veins showing up. Yhwach then forced Ichigo to kill the soul king.
Yhwach had been planning this from the start. Yhwach reveals that it was always Ichigo’s destiny to kill the Soul King, due to the fact that he has Soul Reaper, Human, Fullbringer, Quincy, and Hollow powers all necessary to end the Soul King.
With the Soul King dead, Urahara and the others realize that the world is falling apart.
What To Expect From Bleach TYBW Episode 29
According to the manga chapter that is going to be adapted in the upcoming episode, Episode 29 will most likely kick off with Yhwach dropping a bombshell on Ichigo.
According to Yhwach, all of Ichigo’s battles were just prepping him to kill the Soul King. Ichigo isn’t buying it and hits Yhwach with a Getsuga Tensho, but Yhwach blocks it without even trying. Yoruichi steps in, assuring Ichigo it’s not true, but Yhwach doubles down, saying they share the same blood, making Ichigo his pawn.
Uryū Ishida will also suddenly show up and shoots Yoruichi in the shoulder, breaking her focus. With the barrier protecting the Soul King shattered, Ichigo demands to know why Uryu is helping Yhwach. But before he can get a proper answer, Yhwach sends him flying and goes after the Soul King.
Yoruichi tries to stop him by throwing orbs at him, but Yhwach has Pernida twist Yoruichi’s arm, and then he throws her out of the palace.
The upcoming episode will most likely feature Ichigo trying to find out why Uryu joined Yhwach and Yhwach absorbing the Soul King's powers.
Yhwach will then take over everything that belonged to the Soul King. There is a chance that Aizen will also show up at the end of the Bleach TYBW Episode 29.
