It felt like Ichigo had overpowered Yhwach. They were evenly matched but Ichigo was able to overpower him during the fight as well.

You don’t know the difference in strength between us, right? ~Yhwach

Yhwach Manipulation

The scene then again shifts to Ichigo, he gets back up and again promises to defeat Yhwach. Yhwach tells Ichigo, that the quincy blood in his body will deny the existence of Soul King eventually.

Then the scene shifts to Ichibe, who is talking to himself, and apologizing to Ichigo and his friends, that he knew they didn’t stand a chance against Yhwach.

Yhwach tells Ichigo that they are too late to save the Soul King. In a desperate attempt, Ichigo rushes to the Soul King, grabbing the stabbed sword from his chest.

Yhwach’s manipulation kicks in as Ichigo pulls out the sword, causing Quincy’s veins to appear on Ichigo’s body. Yhwach forces Ichigo to unintentionally slash the Soul King in half, something Yhwach had planned all along.

Yhwach explains this was always Ichigo’s destiny due to his multiple powers. As Ichigo drops to his knees, Yhwach explains how his power, “The Almighty” lets him see and manipulate future events.

Ichigo Was The Key

He reveals that he guided Ichigo to this moment, forcing him to kill the Soul King. The only person who can kill Soul King needs to have Soul Reaper, Human, Full Bringer, Quincy, and Hollow Powers Ichigo had all of those.

Down in the Soul Society, Urahara notices the world around him falling apart. He realizes that Ichigo and his friends arrived too late, he does not know that it was actually Ichigo who destroyed Soul King.

Now, not only Soul Society but also Hueco Mundo and the Human World are all shaking and soon to be destroyed.

Review

Bleach TYBW Episode 28 was nothing short of epic, the episode gave major Aizen vs. Ichigo vibes at the start, yes I am emphasizing on this way too much, I know.

His manipulation was insane, especially when he started revealing his ability, “The Almighty” Watching him toy with Ichigo, all while knowing the future was chilling.

It was insane how Yhwach casually told Ichigo that his Quincy blood was the key to everything, and yet Ichigo didn’t realize that he was only alive because he had a major role to play in Yhwach’s plan. Overall, this episode really gave off an end-of-the-world vibe.
