Bleach TYBW Episode 27 Review and Recap – Ichibe vs Yhwach

Bleach TYBW Episode 27 was released today. The battle between Squad Zero and Yhwach’s elite Quincy soldiers hit its peak.

Senjumaru’s Bankai reveal was stunning, nearly half of episode 27 was the recap of the TYBW part 2 finale.

Ichibe’s terrifying name-erasing ability was on full display, erasing Yhwach’s name and nearly defeating him. However, Yhwach was two steps ahead of Squad Zero.

What Happened in Bleach TYBW Episode 27?

Bleach TYBW Episode 27 starts with Senjumaru Shutara, a member of Squad Zero, releasing her bankai after other members sacrificed their lives so that she can gain full power.

Her spiritual pressure was felt in every realm in Bleach. She is able to overwhelm most of the Schutzstaffel.

Meanwhile, Ichibe activates his Bankai, Shirafude Ichimonji, and renames Yhwach as “King of Ants,” intending to make him powerless. He then crushes him between massive palms.

Ichibe thought he had defeated Yhwach but he appeared again right in front of him, and he stabbed Ichibe with his quincy blade.

How did Yhwach Survive Ichibe’s Attack?

Yhwach survived Ichibē’s attack because of his power, “The Almighty.” After being stomped and crushed. Yhwach reveals that his eyes were closed for a long time.

Now with his eyes open, he can see far into the future, allowing him to understand all abilities before they hit him.

That is why Ichibe’s naming attack faded away. Yhwach explains that anything Ichibē throws at him becomes powerless because he already knows it will happen.

He then obliterates Ichibe’s whole body leaving his head on the ground, proving that Squad Zero can not defeat him.

Senjumaru Shutara vs Uryu Ishida

Uryu engages in battle with Senjumaru Shutara in her bankai. At first, she was able to overpower Ishida easily and says:

I will eradicate your your bloodline here and now!

She even captures Ishida in her bankai, however, Ishida releases his Stern Ritter powers. Senjumaru thinks she still has the upper hand and calls out Ishida that he is still in the captured state.

However, turns out Ishida has somehow reversed her bankai, Senjumaru was stuck in her own bankai. Yhwach did tell Ishida that he has an ability that exceeds even Yhwach’s. Ishida then fires a powerful shot at Senjumaru which kills her.

After defeating Ichibe and the Squad Zero, Yhwach moves towards the royal palace to kill Soul King.

While Ichigo and his squad are flying towards their location. After arriving, Ichigo realizes someone is calling his name.

Turns out it was Ichibe who wanted Ichigo to call his name so that he could restore his body. He explains what happened and asks Ichigo to stop Yhwach as it will take time for his strength to come back.

Ichigo promises he will stop Yhwach and moves towards Soul Palace. However, Yhwach reached the palace first and was able to stab Soul King in the chest. The episode ended on a cliffhanger with Yhwach saying:

The one who is seen the future, my father!

Review

Senjumaru’s Bankai reveal was super cool and well-adapted, Studio Pierrot did a really good job with the first episode.

However, half the episode was just a recap of what happened in the part 2 finale, which was kinda disappointing after waiting so long for this episode of Bleach TYBW Part 3.

The ending left us hanging with Yhwach stabbing Soul King and calling Soul King, his father. Overall, it was a good episode with epic moments, but that long recap really broke the flow for me.

Rating: 3.5 out of 5.
