Uptill now I have come across four bosses including Lingxuzi. The Forest of Wolves area is pretty confusing as there is no quest guide or map explaining what to do next.
Once you have defeated Guangzhi, you can either fight the optional boss Wandering Wight, or simply ignore him and use the passageway behind him to progress further.
Lingxuzi is a white wolf-type boss and can be found inside the Guanyin Temple.
I have made a detailed guide on the Lingxuzi boss location too. In this article, I am going to explain how I defeated Lingxuzi.
Which Build I Used Against Lingxuzi Boss?
Before you begin the fight with the white wolf, use the shrine outside to craft the Pilgrim’s Headband. My build pretty much focused on stamina. I had four spark points on Rampant Vigor to increase my maximum stamina.
I also added one point to unlock the Wraithful Escalation. Also, I put one spark point in the Simian Agility to reduce the stamina cost of Dodging.
For the immobilization spell, I unlocked the Evanescence which came quite handy against the Lingxuzi. Moreover, I also added two spark points to crash to increase the damage to the immobilized enemy.
How To Beat Lingxuzi Boss Easily
In my previous guides, I have always advised initiating the fight with a heavy attack, this time around don’t do that. Lingxuzi will be the one to attack you first, dodge his first attack, and then use light combos on him.
This boss is faster than the other bosses you encountered before but the attacks are quite predictable and easily dodgeable.
Once you dodge his attack, then use the heavy attack to stagger him, and keep using the light combos to attack him.
As soon as he is preparing to attack you again, use the immobilization spell, and use this opportunity to attack him with light combos again.
Red Tides Spell
After the spell is broken, transform into the Guangzhi by using the Red Tides spell (Press 4 to do this). Since you are using another character, you have full stamina now, Use the Moon chase (heavy attack) on Lingxuzi, it will deal a lot of damage to the wolf.
Keep dodging and use the Moon Dance and keep using it until your stamina is depleted and you turn back into the monkey.
By the time you transform back, you must have depleted at least 70% of Lingxuzi’s health. Keep using the light combos again until your immobilization ability is ready again. Use the immobilization spell again to end the battle.
However, there are a few abilities you need to worry about during your fight.
Dual Slash
The white wolf will rush towards you and then slash you with its right hand, the attack will follow with a left-hand slash, and you need to dodge both. After this attack, the wolf will jump away to avoid getting hit by you.
Simple Slash
This slash is the most predictable, it will happen whenever you are attacking him, and it will randomly try to slash you. Since the attack is predictable you can evade it easily by pressing the space bar at the right time.
Howl
After the simple slash or dual slash, the wolf will sometimes use the howl which is an AOE-based ability but the damage is minor. However, it does stun our character.
Rooftop Rush
After you have dealt about 30-40% damage to him, the white wolf will jump on the rooftop and will keep on leaping on the rooftops.
Suddenly he will rush towards you and try to slash you in mid-air. This attack is also predictable but he is really fast, so if it is your first time fighting against Lingxuzi, remember my advice when he stops moving on a rooftop, he is ready to attack you anytime.
Toss and Slam
This is actually insulting and it takes away a lot of health. The wolf will rush towards you and then punch you so hard in the upward direction that you will be tossed in the air and then he will attack you again in mid-air and slam you into the ground.
Bite
After a small howl, the white wolf will try to bite your legs, this actually does minor damage, but can easily be avoided, if you see him do a small howl, he is going to bite your legs, just jump backward to avoid it.
Final Words
The build matters a lot, the one I mentioned above is actually the perfect build against the Lingxuzi. It will take a few attempts to figure out the pattern and eventually, you will adapt to it and defeat this white wolf.
You will get 1.5K XP along with 705 Will and 1 Stone Spirit as a reward for defeating the Lingxuzi.
