Another Drama Queen’s long chapter by Kuraku Ichikawa, stretching to 48 pages this time, smaller than first one though.

The manga keeps grabbing attention thanks to its ‘unique’ storyline, but it is not without controversy.

Some fans have called it ‘racist manga‘, yet it somehow still secured 4th place in the hottest category on Manga Plus.

The previous chapter ended on a cliffhanger with our main protagonist deciding to kill the aliens and eat them to destroy the evidence.

Let’s go through a quick recap of the previous chapter and then discuss the latest chapter of this controversial manga.

What Happened in Drama Queen Chapter 2?

Kitami’s Painful Past

Drama Queen Chapter 2 titled ‘Terrible’ starts with Kitami’s flashback of the tragic accident where his family was killed by an alien driver who fled the scene, leaving him the only survivor.

Back in the present, Kitami tries alien meat for the first time but hates it so much that he throws up, questioning how Nomamoto can even eat it.

Kitami thinks they are there because of the smell of the cooked alien, even though Nomamoto ate the evidence, the smell was still there.

Kitami and Nomamoto end up opening the door and their alien neighbors aren’t there for the smell.

Turns out they are complaining about how their ceilings are way too low for comfort.

The couple says they are filing a petition to the landlord, asking to rebuild the ceilings higher.

The alien couple started sniffing around and noticed something awful coming from Nomamoto.

They straight-up told her to take a bath before signing their petition, even throwing shade about living across from such a stinky lady.

When alien meat is cooked, they can smell it, but they don’t actually recognize it as their own.

After they left, Nomamoto turned to Kitami and casually dropped that from now on she is going to eat them without cooking, in RAW form.

Kitami admits he’s not actually serious about the plan to kill and eat the aliens. He says it was just something he said in the heat of the moment and calls it a pipe dream.

But Nomamoto seems totally hooked on alien meat now. Kitami then drops some harsh reality, explaining it would take them decades to free the city since there are 60,000 aliens, and they just keep making more.

Nomamoto quickly does the math and figures out it will take them 55 years to get the job done.

Nomamoto says she is fine with eating alien meat until she grows old, and Kitami agrees.

They both head out and soon spot five aliens wandering nearby. As Kitami watches, he suddenly gets hit with a flashback from his school days.

In it, he is telling a girl about his dream to study hard, become rich, and take his parents and sibling to space one day.

He kills all 5 aliens and Nomamoto eats them RAW. They decide if they kill enough aliens and this starts spreading that aliens are somehow disappearing it will scare the aliens away from their city.

Are Kitami and Nomamoto Being Watched?

Kitami and Nomamoto decide to mess with the aliens a bit and give them a scare. But what they do not know is that someone is watching them through satellite footage.

A guy who seems like a detective (though not confirmed yet) is shown talking to someone, saying they have a video of a male and female.

He doesn’t explain what is on the video or if it is even about Kitami and Nomamoto or someone else.

Drama Queen Chapter 2 Review

This chapter keeps things intense with the reveal that Kitami and Nomamoto might actually be under surveillance by a government or some secret group.

The length of each chapter feels a bit too much at times. Kitami’s flashback adds emotional depth, showing how his past trauma fuels his actions.

The moment he tells Nomamoto that only he will kill the aliens, while she eats them, reveals that he has some sort of darkness inside him.

Overall, the mix of dark humor and the suspense of being watched kept this chapter engaging, it was a really fun read for me!

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.
