Kagurabachi Chapter 48 has officially been released. Yoji Uruha is in danger because a group called Hishaku has his enchanted katana Kumeyuri but can’t use it until he is dead.
In the previous chapter, Yoji was guarded by bodyguards, but they were defeated. Chihiro, who also has an enchanted katana, arrives to help Yoji.
The Kumeyuri was given to Yoji years ago to fight in the Seitei War. However, Kunishige Rokuhira took the sword back after the war even though the sword was useless to him.
Yoji Uruha heard about the death of Kunishige and he was assigned bodyguards, more like protective detail to keep the sword useless in the hands of the Hishaku group.
After the group defeated his bodyguards, he went to the train station where he met his new bodyguards, Hakuri Sazanami and Chihiro. He was shocked to see Chihiro as he resembled a lot to Kunishige Rokuhira.

What Happened in Kagurabachi Chapter 48?
The latest chapter starts with Chihiro telling Yoji that he has transferred all the other passengers to a separate cabin/car.
He will drop all the passengers at the next station and then they will go to the Senkutsuji Temple.
Yoji Still Shocked To See Chihiro
On their way, Yoji asks Chihiro if he can hold his enchanted sword, and he sarcastically replies “What, like a baby”.
Yoji is still shocked to see Chihiro and still confused if he is actually the son or Kunishige himself. Yoji says it has been 18 years so it feels like meeting him all over again.
Chihiro tells Yoji that he had a good life with Kunishige, and Yoji is glad that Kunishige was not all alone when he went into hiding.
Hishaku Hired Sorcerers and Gave Them Special Weapons
He also explains why the bodyguards were easily annihilated (they weren’t, revealed in a panel later), The Hishaku gang now wields weapons that were made using the same material as enchanted swords, they temporarily gain the same power as the enchanted swords in exchange for their lives.
Hishaku’s plan is to attack all at once and take down the Sanso Fortresses. They have enough firepower to take down four fortresses with their new weapons.
Hakuri Sazanami realizes that they are totally outgunned against them but Yoji says, there are elite guards protecting the fortress he was in.
He explains, that if they have just hired some sorcerers who gain a temporary boost of power, they are no match for his elite guards.
Turns out, the elite guards defeated the hired sorcerers who came to kill Yoji. Now elite guards are on their way to catch up with Yoji again.
Chihiro and the gang reach their destination, and the panel shifts to Hirohiko and his partner.
Hirohiko vs Chihiro
Hirohiko is now planning to directly engage with Yoji but his partner warns him that Yoji is protected by an enchanted sword user.
Hirohiko says we don’t need to engage with the Enten user to deal with Yoji and the next panel shows Yoji’s elite guards unconscious and most likely dead.
Hirohiko thought Yoji would come out if he killed his elite guards as he was close to them. However, Yoji knows how important his life is.
Hirohiko then left with no choice enters the train and engages in the battle with Chihiro. The chapter concludes with both of them facing each other.
Who is Hirohiko?
Hirohiko is most likely an elite member of the Hishaku or one of their leaders. He first made an appearance in the Kagurabachi Chapter 48.
Hirohiko was tired of waiting and preparing for the past 3 years and is now finally excited for the main act. He engages in battle with Chihiro who wields the Enten Enchanted Sword.
Final Words
While I thought Chihiro would take Yoji somewhere safe, turns out they are looking for another enchanted sword owner. Hishaku hired some sorcerers to kill the enchanted sword owners.
Hishaku gave them weapons that were forged using the same materials as the enchanted swords. However, these weapons drain the life of the user.
I am excited to see the battle between Hirohiko and Chihiro, it’s been a while since they brought up some powerful enemy.
